To achieve the highest degree of safety and accuracy Lyman recommends that all bottleneck rifle cases be inspected after resizing to ensure that the proper headspace dimension is maintained. The best way to check this critical dimension is with a Lyman case length/headspace gauge. The reloader simply inserts the case into the gauge to insure that it does not exceed the maximum or fall below the minimum allowable headspace. In addition the gauge will identify a case which exceeds the maximum allowable case length.

Caution: Any case found with excessive headspace should be destroyed immediately.

Roll pins require this special punch set

Ideal tools for removing hollow split roll pins. Special round nose design allows proper alignment of punch in roll pin to prevent damage to fine mechanisms such as trigger group parts. Roll Pin Punches come in 1/16 3/32 1/8 5/32 sizes.

Rotary case tumbling provides a real advantage over other methods of case cleaning as the stainless steel media pins are able to get into areas that other media such as corn cob or nut shell simply cannot reach. Areas such as primer pockets and the inside of cases are both cleaned using rotary tumblers while vibratory tumbling just can’t get into these areas effectively. A good quality stainless steel media made to the correct length and diameters is needed however to take advantage of these benefits.

Lyman engineers took a look at the media separators on the market and decided that they could do better. The result is a separator that incorporates many new features that makes the messy job of sifting media from cases much easier. The inner basket can be positioned to prevent it from moving as cases are poured in. The crank handle cover spins freely on the crank making it much more comfortable to use. Improved latches provide a solid lock-up for the basket and the outer cover. The covers have interlocking edges to seal media and dust inside.
