Overview
GnomeArms LLC ships firearms, ammunition, and accessories nationwide in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Because we are a federally licensed firearms dealer (FFL), certain items require shipment to a licensed FFL dealer and cannot be shipped directly to a buyer’s residence. Please review this policy carefully before placing an order.
Processing Times
Orders are typically processed and shipped within 1–3 business days of payment clearing and all required paperwork being completed. Orders placed on weekends or federal holidays begin processing on the next business day. We will notify you by email if an order is delayed beyond this window due to stock, compliance verification, or FFL verification.
Shipping Methods and Destinations
Firearms (handguns, long guns, NFA items, frames, and receivers) must be shipped to a licensed FFL dealer in the buyer’s state. The buyer is responsible for selecting an FFL dealer and ensuring that dealer’s current license is on file with GnomeArms LLC before an item will ship. Transfer fees charged by the receiving FFL are the buyer’s responsibility. Handgun shipments are sent via overnight or expedited air service where required by law.
Ammunition ships directly to the buyer’s address where permitted by law. Ammunition shipments require an adult signature on delivery and may incur Hazmat or carrier surcharges. Ammunition cannot ship to states, counties, or municipalities that prohibit direct-to-consumer ammunition sales.
Accessories, optics, parts, and non-firearm gear ship directly to the buyer’s address via standard ground carriers. Signature may be required on higher-value orders.
In-Store Pickup is available at our Green River, WY storefront during business hours (Mon–Sat, 9 AM–6 PM MST). Buyers must present a valid government-issued photo ID. Firearm pickups require completion of ATF Form 4473 and a NICS background check before release.
State and Territorial Restrictions
We cannot ship, or can ship only in compliance-restricted configurations, to certain states, territories, and localities. These include but are not limited to:
- California: Features-restricted firearms only. Standard-capacity magazines (over 10 rounds) and “assault weapon”-classified firearms are prohibited. Ammunition must be sold through a CA-licensed ammunition vendor.
- New York: Magazines over 10 rounds and firearms classified as “assault weapons” under the NY SAFE Act are prohibited. Direct-to-consumer ammunition shipments are subject to state law.
- New Jersey: Magazines over 10 rounds and “assault firearms” as defined by NJ law are prohibited. Hollow-point ammunition is restricted.
- Massachusetts: Firearms and magazines must comply with the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Enforcement Notice and state assault-weapons statutes; many semi-automatic rifles and standard-capacity magazines are prohibited.
- Connecticut: Magazines over 10 rounds and firearms classified as “assault weapons” under CT Gen. Stat. § 53-202a are prohibited.
- Washington, D.C.: Magazines over 10 rounds and “assault pistols” or “assault weapons” as defined by D.C. Code are prohibited.
- Hawaii: Handgun magazines over 10 rounds are prohibited. Handgun shipments are subject to Hawaii permit and registration requirements.
- Colorado: Magazines over 15 rounds are prohibited.
- Washington State: Magazines over 10 rounds are prohibited. “Assault weapon” purchases are restricted under RCW 9.41.390.
- Illinois / Cook County / Chicago: Magazine and firearm restrictions apply under the Protect Illinois Communities Act and local ordinances.
State, territorial, and local laws change frequently. It is ultimately the buyer’s responsibility to verify that any item ordered is legal to possess at the destination address. Orders for prohibited items or destinations will be canceled and refunded, less any applicable restocking or return-shipping cost.
Damaged, Lost, or Delayed Shipments
Inspect all packages upon delivery. If a shipment arrives damaged, refuse delivery where possible, document the damage with photos, and contact us within 48 hours at sales@gnomearms.com. We will coordinate a carrier claim and resolution.
