For years shooters have associated accuracy and superior ballistic performance with one name more than any other – Sierra. On the range or in the field Sierra bullets offer that extra margin of performance that shooters can depend on.

Sierra MatchKing is the classification for Sierra’s pre-eminent target bullets. The driving motivation for the design of each MatchKing bullet is accuracy. These bullets have very thin jackets drawn to an exacting concentricity standard of 0.0003 in maximum variation and their weight is held to within plus or minus 0.3 grain.

All Sierra MatchKing rifle bullets have a hollow point design with a very small meplat for high ballistic coefficient. The majority of these bullets have a boat tail shape to further minimize drag and improve ballistic coefficient. They are manufactured to the very highest quality standards and their accuracy has been acclaimed worldwide.

While they are recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy Sierra MatchKing and Sierra Tipped MatchKing bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications.

Sierra Bullets is proud to introduce a new addition to the legendary MatchKing line. Shooters around the world will appreciate the accuracy and extreme long range performance of our new 7mm 197 grain HPBT (#1997). A sleek 27 caliber elongated ogive and a final meplat reducing operation (pointing) provide an increased ballistic coefficient for optimal wind resistance and velocity retention. To ensure precise bullet to bore alignment a unique bearing surface to ogive junction uses the same 1.5 degree angle commonly found in many match rifle chamber throats.

While they are recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy MatchKing and Tipped MatchKing bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications. Although MatchKing and Tipped MatchKing bullets are commonly used for varmint hunting their design will not provide the same reliable explosive expansion at equivalent velocities in varmints compared to their lightly jacketed Hornet Blitz BlitzKing or Varminter counterparts.

This bullet requires a barrel twist rate of 1×7.5? or faster.

This 8mm MatchKing® was added to Sierra’s line in 2002. It provides European shooters with a world-class target bullet for this traditional and popular European caliber and it fills a void for American shooters who favor cartridges in this caliber such as the 8mm Remington Magnum and 8 x 57mm.

Although MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are commonly used for varmint hunting their design will not provide the same reliable explosive expansion at equivalent velocities in varmints compared to their lightly jacketed Hornet Blitz or Varminter counterparts.

Sierra has enhanced a segment of the MatchKing line by adding the acetal resin tip thus crowning the Tipped MatchKing (TMK) bullet line. The major advantage of adding a tip to the bullet is the reduction of drag producing a more favorable ballistic coefficient. Another benefit is reliable feeding in magazine fed firearms.

The #7295 was introduced in November 2015.

This bullet requires a barrel twist rate of 1×9? or faster.

The .338 caliber 225 grain SPT Pro-Hunter features a flat base design and the lighter weight of this projectile make it a great choice for medium & large game. Combine that with Sierra’s world-renowned accuracy and you have a perfect choice for those hunters seeking a reduced recoil alternative where a heavier bullet is not required.

This .355” diameter rifle bullet was designed specifically for the interesting .350 Legend cartridge. Designed to produce reliable feeding in AR firearms chambered in the Legend cartridge and providing optimum penetration and expansion at the 350 Legend velocities. The 155 grain Legend bullet entertains a B.C. value of .182 (G1). This offering will be available in 100 Ct (#2755) and 500 count (#2755C) quantities. Feed your 350 the 155 grain Legend bullets. The results are sure to be LEGENDARY!

This popular bullet was designed for use with the smaller 35 caliber hunting cartridges and it has proven its worth year after year. It is designed and constructed to perform reliably on medium to large game and give maximum accuracy in cartridges such as the 35 Remington and 358 Winchester. This bullet with its cannelure for crimping and roundnose configuration can be used in rifles with tubular magazines. Ranges should be kept less than 150 yards when using the 35 Remington cartridge to ensure expansion in medium game. This very useful bullet takes many medium and big game animals every year especially in areas where ranges are short to medium distances and fast shots are necessary.

For handguns this bullet is preferred for the 35 Remington and similar cartridges for all game small through large at short ranges. Range should be kept less than 125 yards to ensure proper bullet performance even with maximum hunting loads. Reduced or moderate loads are not recommended when bullet expansion is required. This is a very accurate bullet that holds its own in the field or on the target range.

For rifles this bullet is designed specifically for the 375 Winchester cartridge. It has Sierra’s unique PowerJacket and provides outstanding terminal performance. Sierra’s Power Jacket ensures positive but even expansion in conjunction with good penetration on medium to heavy game. The cannelure location is correct for crimping and the flat point was designed for use in tubular magazines. This bullet is also very effective in the 375 H&H Magnum but velocity should be kept around 2200 fps to avoid over-expansion in game.

For handguns although the bullet is designed for rifles chambered for the 375 Winchester cartridge it quickly found a home in the 375 Super Magnum revolver. Thompson Center currently chambers the T/C Contender for the 375 Winchester as well. Designed for the modest velocities generated by 375 Winchester rifles this bullet performs very well in a handgun. The large amount of exposed lead at the tip and the PowerJacket skiving assure quick even expansion at all suggested velocities and ranges making this bullet the best choice in this caliber for field use on game. Traditional Sierra accuracy assures success on medium to large game and silhouettes.

The #2900 was introduced in 1987.

The .4515” diameter bullet provides an outstanding bullet weight that will be ideal in the prevalent .450 Bushmaster. Excellent feeding capability was of utmost importance along with the deepest penetration and expansion qualities combined. The flatnose allows the projectile to deliver tremendous energy transfer on game such as boar and bear. Yet deliver reliable expansion even on smaller game like coyotes. This 450 Bushmaster will be an ultimate bullet for deer as well. All of this performance and sporting a G1 B.C. of .164 and sectional density of .182 will prove this to be the excellent fodder for the mighty .450.

Sierra Pro-Hunter bullets are generally tougher bullets great for medium ranges and good penetration while GameKings (especially Boat-Tail Boat-Tail Hollow Point) are designed for better long-range ballistics and often expand more explosively though they can be less durable at high velocities making Pro-Hunters better for closer shots and GameKings ideal for longer distances where wind drift matters more.

  • Design:  Flat base (RN SMP SPT HP/FN HP/BT)

  • Best For:  Medium ranges close-to-medium shots good penetration moderate velocities.

  • Performance:  Tougher construction designed for deep penetration and controlled expansion on medium to large game.

  • Key Benefit:  Excellent accuracy and reliable performance when you don't need extreme range especially in slower cartridges or shorter barrels.
