The Volquartsen Bolt Tune-Up Kit for the Ruger 10/22 (22 LR model only) rifle contains Volquartsen's Exact Edge Extractor for MKII MKIII MK IV and 10/22 and their SureStrike Firing Pin for Ruger 10/22 This kit is designed to eliminate light hits and stovepipes.

The extractor will not lose its edge under impact such as other extractors made from stamped steel or titanium that will have their edges roll over and actually cause extraction problems after a short period of use. Volquartsen's extractor features a very precise hook point. It is hardened to a Rc 58-60 to withstand years of use and still maintain its edge. Volquartsen is able to hold the tolerances to +/-.0001" by utilizing the EDM manufacturing process. The hook is .005" closer to the rim of the cartridge to allow for the most positive extraction available. Made of A2 tool steel.
Note: Volquartsen machines a chamfer or "beveled edge" onto the bottom edge of the extractor improving feeding and reliability. It will eliminate any issues with the bottom edge of the extractor catching on the next round as it feeds up from the magazine. At first glance it may look like a defect as it looks completely different than anything found on the factory part.
This Extractor fits the complete line of MKII MKIII MK IV and 22/45 pistols as well as 10/22 and 10/22 Magnum rifles.

Volquartsen SureStrike Firing Pin is designed to minimize and/or eliminate light hits on the Ruger 10/22 (22 LR model only). The SureStrike Firing Pin is precision EDM machined from A2 tool steel. The impact section of the firing pin is then surface ground to create the optimal "SureStrike" each and every time!
This new firing pin is also .004" wider than the factory firing pin to help eliminate side to side movement in the factory bolt.
Hardened to a Rc 56–58 to prevent any excessive wear and deformation that can be found on the factory firing pin. The hardening process on the A2 material allows for a much deeper hardening when compared to conventional case hardening.
Shooters have commented on how well our grips feel and fit their hand for nearly 30 years. Volquartsen's latest design marks the return of their original thumbrest for even more comfort and additional control.
